St Alban’s College’s inaugural Young Filmmakers’ Intensive Workshop Weekend brought together a group of Grade 10-12 filmmakers from several schools with diverse interests and strengths to draw inspiration from one another and forge valuable connections.
Our professional filmmakers with years of experience and knowledge of the South African film industry were added to the mix. We also welcomed interactions with film schools and institutions to lend their expertise in skills development and training filmmakers.
Finally, IEB examiners and educators brought their understanding of the high school filmmaker’s context and the demands of the Dramatic Arts Filmmaking Technical Programme.
It was a busy weekend that left our Young Filmmakers with new skills, relationships and the inspiration to create.
