Our 1st Team Basketball side recently took part in the Independent Schools Stayers Tournament hosted by Kearsney College from 26 to 29 September. The tournament was exceptionally well organised, and our boys were warmly welcomed and accommodated by Kearsney, which made for a positive experience both on and off the court.
Over the four days, the team played eight games, securing five wins and three losses to finish 9th overall. Highlights included a narrow 44–43 overtime victory against St John’s and a commanding 57–20 win over Kingswood, in which our side featured only Form 3 players.
Two of the defeats came by just four and five points, while the largest loss was by 11 points to the eventual champions, Kearsney.
The weekend was both competitive and rewarding, with our boys showing resilience, teamwork and character throughout. Their performances reflect a commitment to growth and a readiness to compete against strong opposition. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to building on this foundation in the season ahead.
