SA Schools Regatta – St Alban’s Rowing Club
Day 1 (Friday): A historic start for the club as Liam Kyriazis and Michael Pearton claimed gold in the U16 pairs. Liam Frankim achieved a personal best with 7th in the Open single sculls. Across other singles, several near misses saw two U14 and three Open semi-finalists.
Day 2 (Saturday): The boys raced the Open and U15 quads, plus U14 and U16 doubles. Newcomers Evan Greenall and Daniel Pearton secured silver in the double scull, with the second combination 6th. The octuple pushed into the final, earning the club its first championship points. U16 doubles (Kyriazis & Pearton) finished 6th, U15 quads narrowly missed the final, and the 1st quad lost to KES by just 0.19s, with the 2nd quad 6th.
Day 3 (Sunday): The U14s had one boat reach the final, finishing 6th. Thloale Matlapeng and Jason Eden won gold in the U15, with the second crew 8th.
The U16 quad finished 6th. In the Open double sculls, Aydon & Frankim took silver, Moeller & Damen bronze, Adalima & Mugivhi 4th, and Mosupyoe & Millar 8th.
Overall, a strong championship with growing momentum across the club, notable wins in U15 and U16, and a fitting final regatta for our senior Open rowers.
