Today, the St Alban’s College community mourns the passing of Mr Mike Knoll, a founding scholar, Old Boy, Council member, and a figure whose life and legacy are woven into the very foundations of our College.
The Knoll family name runs like a golden thread through the history of St Alban’s College. Mike’s parents, Monty and Val Knoll, were part of the founding committee as early as 1959 and played a significant role in shaping the school’s ethos and character. It was only fitting that Mike would complete his schooling at the College his parents helped to establish, matriculating as part of the founding class in 1966.
Throughout his life, Mike gave generously of his time, wisdom, and professional expertise as an architect and Council member. His contribution was an enduring gift, offered quietly and faithfully, helping to shape the physical and institutional future of St Alban’s. He was looking forward to celebrating his 60th reunion this year, a milestone moment in the life of the College, and while he will be deeply missed, his presence will be felt and honoured when we gather.
We hold the Knoll family in our thoughts and prayers as we honour a life of service, loyalty, and lasting impact on the story of St Alban’s College.
